Ronald Velten

European Marketing Director at IBM. Experienced, enthusing, and energizing marketing- and strategy leader with 15+ years experience in business- and marketing strategy in the (International) high-tech B2B market. ?

I have had the opportunity to work in a wide variety of marketing and business development roles both locally and internationally ranging from product management, marketing management, channel marketing, industry marketing (finance and public) to leading marketing teams in both Netherlands and Benelux.

In all roles my objectives were to recover, rebuild and reconnect marketing and business and realize marketing innovation and performance - due to which managing change and transformation have become two constant factors in my career.??

Seeing strategy without execution is of no value and just spending marketing budgets is a waste of time I develop high performance marketing teams by combining strategic marketing with tangible and accountable execution that connects a company’s uniqueness to their markets.

Key words for me in leading marketing transformations are hands-on leadership and coaching and challenging my teams on my triple A principles of attitude, ambition and most of all accountability.

Currently I am on the assignment to restructure and rejuvenate IBMs marketing organization, -approach and - performance for the Benelux region.

Next to this I am active as public speaker on topics like innovation, IBMs strategy, branding, B2B marketing, marketing transformation, social media, marketing automation, marketing accountability and many other topics. I am doing this on both IBMs behalf as engaged IBMe as on personal title being an engaged marketer.

Specialties: strategic marketing, business planning, business strategy, branding, internal branding, co-marketing, public relations, market intelligence, marketing consulting, b2b. business-to-business, online marketing, performance management, social business, social media, marketing automation,
